Glaucia Seixas

Profile: I got my PhD and MS in Ecology and Conservation, from Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul – Brazil, and my BS in Zootechny from Federal University of Santa Maria – Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. I am the founder and coordinator of the Blue-fronted Amazon Parrot Project since 1997, and I count with the assistance of a field team composed by field technicians and interns. Originally, the Project had partnership with the Mato Grosso do Sul State Government, through the Wild Animal Rehabilitation Center. Since 2004, the Project is affiliated with the NGO Neotropica Foundation of Brazil (Fundação Neotrópica do Brasil), where I volunteer. I am also member of the committee for the Conservation and Management of Amazon Parrots, coordinated by the Chico Mendes Institute / The Ministry of Environment. I have published many articles and chapters about my studies with the blue-fronted Amazon parrot (Amazona aestiva).
